Sodium cromoglicate has an anti-inflammatory action and reduces redness, soreness and itching in eyes affected by allergic conditions like hayfever when used regularly during the course of treatment. These symptoms occur usually in the late spring or early summer when pollen from grasses or trees comes into contact with the eyes of people who are sensitive to them. This condition is sometimes called ‘hayfever eyes’ or by its medical term: seasonal allergic conjunctivitis.

Ingredients

Active Ingredients: Sodium cromoglicate 2% w/v (20mg/ml).
Inactive Ingredients: Disodium edetate, benzalkonium chloride (preservative), sodium chloride, water for injections.

Directions for Use

  • Wash your hands before use.
  • Tilt your head back and gently pull down the lower eyelid.
  • Instill 1 or 2 drops into each affected eye four times daily.
  • Avoid touching the eye with the dropper tip.
  • Use regularly every day to prevent allergic symptoms.
  • Consult your doctor if symptoms persist or worsen.

Precautions

  • For external use only. Do not ingest.
  • Avoid contact with soft contact lenses.
  • If contact occurs, remove lenses and rinse eyes thoroughly.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to sodium cromoglicate or any listed ingredients.
  • Keep out of reach of children. Seek immediate help if swallowed.
  • Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking other medications.
  • Stop use if you experience eye irritation, redness, or pain, and seek medical advice.

  • Allercrom Eye Drops are used to relieve and prevent symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis.
  • Sodium cromoglicate works by stabilising mast cells to prevent the release of histamine.
  • This helps reduce eye itching, redness, and watering caused by pollen, dust, or pet dander.
  • Suitable for adults and children over 6 years, under supervision.
  • Use regularly for full preventative effect, especially during allergy seasons.
  • Do not use for more than 14 days without medical advice.
  • Store below 25°C and discard 4 weeks after opening.
  • Available without a prescription for short-term allergy relief.
